Built from a real problem — a precise, flexible receipt generator

The Beginning

The idea for ReceiptCraft was born from a frustratingly common problem. Like many people, we had a collection of paper receipts that had been stored away for record-keeping. Over time, exposure to sunlight had faded the thermal paper to the point where the text was barely visible. When we needed them for tax purposes, they were essentially useless.

That's when we started looking for digital alternatives. While there were several receipt maker apps on the market, we quickly discovered they all had the same limitations: generic templates, restricted layout options, and little room for customization. If your receipt didn't fit their predefined format, you were out of luck.

Building the Solution

We needed something different – a tool that could rebuild receipt layouts with precise layout control, support for different receipt sizes (57mm, 80mm and 110mm), and the flexibility to match any receipt format we encountered. So we built it ourselves.

For quite a while, ReceiptCraft remained a personal tool, used locally whenever we needed to digitize or recreate receipts. But as we shared it with friends and colleagues, we noticed a pattern – people needed this kind of precise, flexible receipt generation for various reasons: small business owners, freelancers, bookkeepers, and anyone dealing with paper receipt management.

Sharing with the World

In 2024, we decided to make ReceiptCraft publicly accessible. What started as a solution to our own problem has become a tool for anyone who values precision and flexibility in receipt generation.

Today, ReceiptCraft serves thousands of users worldwide — from small business owners preparing receipt previews and internal templates, to accountants digitizing faded paper records, to designers prototyping point-of-sale interfaces. We continue to improve and expand the tool based on feedback from our community.

ReceiptCraft is designed for creating sample, preview, and reference receipts. Generated receipts are not intended to be used as valid proof of purchase, payment, or transaction.
