Free Walmart Receipt Generator & Template

A Walmart receipt is the printed record of a store transaction — the itemized list, the tax and total lines, how it was paid for, and the store and register codes that let staff look the sale up later. Walmart is the largest retailer in the United States, so its thermal-printed receipt is one of the most familiar formats in the country. This template reproduces that layout section by section, and you fill it in with your own store, items, and totals. It is handy for keeping an expense or bookkeeping record, replacing a paper receipt that has faded, or building realistic sample data for design and software testing. Every value shown below is an editable example, not a real transaction.

Store header

The receipt opens with a short feedback line — a survey web address and an ID such as ID #:5DFGSDGF3DF — above the centered Walmart spark logo. Beneath the logo sits the store block: the phone number and manager name (342-645-5676 Mgr:JOHNY), then the street address and city, state, and ZIP (3452 STATE AVE, POND WALES AL 54333). Each of these fields is yours to set.

Register and transaction codes

A single line carries the codes a cashier or returns desk uses to identify the sale: ST# (store number), OP# (operator), TE# (terminal), and TR# (transaction) — for example ST# 00841 OP# 003212 TE# 25 TR# 03422. These are what tie the paper receipt back to the store system.

Item lines

Items print in three columns — description, item ID, and price — with a one-letter tax flag after each price (X, T, or N) showing whether that line was taxed. Names use the clipped Walmart style, such as CAT CAGE, BOOK PORTABLE, RED GRAPE, and CHICKEN BRST, each paired with a long UPC-style number. Anything sold by weight adds a second line with the weight and unit price, for example 2.33 LB @ 1 lb /2.01. You can add as many lines as you need and set the tax flag on each one.

Totals and payment

The totals block stacks subtotal, tax, and total — SUBTOTAL 23.82, TAX 1 7.000 % 1.32, TOTAL 45.23 — followed by how the sale was tendered. In this example it is paid with a Walmart shopping card (SHOPPING CARD TEND 45.23, CHANGE DUE 0.00) and includes the card's redemption and running-balance block (Beg Bal, Tran Amt, End Bal). The rates, tender type, and balances are all editable.

Footer and barcode

The foot of the receipt summarizes the visit — an items-sold count (# ITEMS SOLD 4) and a long transaction-control number (TC#) — then prints a CODE128 barcode that encodes the sale so it can be scanned at a returns desk. A short store slogan and the date and time (02/14/26 10:32:57) close it out. Any of these lines can be edited or removed.

A note on responsible use. Receipts you create here are your own documents, meant for records, expense tracking, testing, teaching, and design mockups. They should not be used to misrepresent a purchase that did not happen or to imply endorsement by Walmart.
